📅 Effective: April 16, 2026
🔄 Last Updated: April 16, 2026
🌍 Applies to: All Users
1
Overview

Free Email Extractor ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that scans web pages and extracts email addresses found in the page content. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

✅ We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. All processing happens entirely on your device.
2
Data We Access

The Extension accesses the following data solely to perform its core function:

  • Page content — The HTML text of the webpage(s) you choose to scan, used only to extract email addresses via regex pattern matching.
  • Active tab URL — Used to determine the website's origin domain so that internal links can be identified and crawled correctly.
  • Internal page links — Links found on the scanned page are fetched in the background to perform a full-site crawl when you click "Scan Site".
ℹ️ None of this data ever leaves your browser. It is processed in memory and discarded when you close the extension popup.
3
Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any personal identity information
  • Browsing history or visited URLs
  • Extracted email addresses (they stay in your browser only)
  • Cookies, passwords, or form data
  • Device identifiers, IP address, or location data
  • Analytics, usage statistics, or telemetry of any kind
✅ There are no tracking scripts, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party services integrated into this Extension.
4
Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for its stated purpose:

  • activeTab — To access the currently open tab's URL and inject the email scanning and crawling script.
  • scripting — To execute the email extraction and site crawler script within the active tab's page context.
  • storage — To save your light/dark mode preference locally in your browser. No personal data is stored.
✅ No broad host permissions are used. All page fetching is done from within the active tab's own origin context, so no special site access is required.
5
Local Storage

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage API for one purpose only:

  • Saving your selected UI theme (light or dark mode) so your preference is remembered between sessions.

No email addresses, URLs, or any personally identifiable information is ever written to storage. You can clear this data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome.

6
Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or external servers. There are no:

  • Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
  • Advertising networks
  • Remote configuration servers
  • Cloud storage or database services
✅ The only network requests made by the Extension are fetch() calls to pages on the website you are actively scanning — nothing else.
7
User Responsibility

Free Email Extractor is a tool designed for legitimate use cases such as:

  • Collecting publicly listed contact emails from websites you own or have permission to access
  • Lead generation in compliance with applicable laws (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.)
  • Personal research and data aggregation from public sources

Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of this Extension complies with all applicable laws, website terms of service, and data protection regulations in their jurisdiction. The developer assumes no liability for misuse.

8
Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage users to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
